Other Organizations We Love

The Sibling Leadership Network

Looking for a local group of adult sibs? Want to learn more about how to advocate for or with your brother or sister? The Sibling Leadership Network has chapters throughout the U.S. dedicated to providing siblings of individuals with disabilities the information, support and tools to advocate with their brothers and sisters and to promote the issues important to them and their entire families.

Special shout-out to our local Illinois chapter, SIBS: Supporting Illinois Brothers and Sisters!

The Sibling Support Project

Best known for SibShops, their signature peer groups for siblings of kids with disabilities, The Sibling Support Project was the first national program dedicated to the life-long and ever-changing concerns of millions of brothers and sisters of people with special health, developmental, and mental health concerns. They also run Facebook groups for siblings of all ages to connect. Don't miss our podcast interview with founder Don Meyer about helping sibs find their tribe!

The Sibling Transformation Project

The Sibling Transformation Project is a cohort-based leadership program that supports the development and transformation of adult siblings through coaching and relationships with peers.

The Arc

The Arc is dedicated to promoting and protecting the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and actively supporting their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes. Check out their resource page for siblings.

Because of You, Sib

Because of You, Sib is a hub for mindful-based insights and guidance for adult sibs. Inspired by her brother Matt, Julie Weber created a dedicated virtual life coaching program serving sibs. Her purpose is to help adult siblings acquire the information they need to know as a “sib” but also help them live the grandest, boldest visions of their lives.

BetterHelp

BetterHelp is an online counseling platform that provides video, phone, and text-based support from a licensed therapist. As huge advocates of mental health care for all--and especially for siblings, who tend to have higher rates of anxiety, depression, and eating disorders--we at The Center for Siblings are proud to offer two weeks free for new users.
